Give one point for each clear answer below. Six or seven points earns a place on the shortlist. Four or five means research more. Three or fewer means the row is too weak to keep for now.
The seven-point checklist
- The item belongs in the category I am browsing.
- Photos show the details that matter for this product type.
- Sizing, measurements, or fit notes are visible when needed.
- Price makes sense beside similar finds.
- Shipping weight does not ruin the value.
- The description names the item clearly and avoids hype.
- I can explain why I would save this find.
Score only what is visible or reasonably supported. “It is probably fine” is not a completed check.
Score your row
A score is a sorting aid, not a safety rating or quality guarantee. A row can score well and still lead to a changed, unavailable or unsuitable external listing.
QC photos by category
QC photos should answer category-specific questions. Finding more pictures only helps when the angles match the item and show something that could change your decision.
| Category | Useful photo set | Common gap |
|---|---|---|
| Shoes & sneakers | Both sides, toe, heel, outsole, inside label | Only a top view or distant pair shot |
| Hoodies, shirts & jackets | Front, back, close details, tag, garment measurement | No measuring tape or fabric context |
| Pants | Full length, waist, rise, hem, measurement method | A size label with no dimensions |
| Bags | Front, back, sides, base, interior, hardware, scale | No dimensions or interior view |
| Watches & jewelry | Clear face or surface, sides, clasp, scale reference | Soft-focus images hiding small details |
| Electronics | Model information, ports, package contents, power label | No compatibility or condition context |
Quality check photos can reveal visible shape, alignment, finish and obvious condition issues. They cannot prove how an item feels, fits over time, performs internally or will arrive after shipping.
A good row example
Hoodie row: 7 points
- Placed in hoodies with a matching destination.
- Front, back, cuffs, inside and measurement photos are present.
- Chest, length and sleeve measurements explain the size options.
- Price is compared with two similar-weight hoodies.
- Item weight and packaging note are visible.
- Source wording explains where the raw link leads.
- The save reason is clear: complete measurements and useful construction photos.
This example is strong because the row supports comparison. It does not promise that the item or seller is reliable.
A weak row example
Bag row: 2 points
- The item appears to be a bag, and one front photo is visible.
- No dimensions, interior, side, base or hardware close-ups.
- A vague size option with no measuring method.
- Price shown alone and shipping weight missing.
- External link label does not explain the source.
- The only save reason is that the row is popular.
Remove it for now. You can always revisit the row if clearer dimensions, photos and source information appear.
The one-sentence save rule
If both blanks are vague, the row has not earned the space.
What to do next
For a score of six or seven, open the destination and confirm that the title, options, photos and current information still match. For four or five, use the search ideas to locate the missing source, size, photo or weight detail. For three or fewer, remove the row and compare a better-documented find in the same category.
